Now
the weather has warmed up, cats have started to put in an
appearance, like “Marmite” you either luv em
or hate em, most don’t mind the 100lb+ monsters on
the odd occasion, we have tried on numerous trips to thin
out the cats on netting parties.
Lake
3 has seen major improvement in fish size when we took
out 1.5 tons of cats. This leaves a massive hole in the
bio mass, which is instantly filled by carp, who now have
1.5 tons of growing to do, it seems the forties went to
fifties, and the fifties went to sixties. As much as we
tried on Lakes 1 and 2 to net them, the snags, bars and
undulations on the bottom meant that the results were useless,
all we can ask is if you lads when you catch any of the
smaller cats you could put them in the keep nets provided,
so we can remove them. Likewise any big cats, just give
Matt or one of the bailiffs a shout they will be more than
happy to put them in our tree lake, I really do appreciate
your help on this one lads. Cheers.

Issue 3
Now
I would just like to run a few simple rigs and tactics by
you which have proved to be rather effective lately. Pic
1 shows 3 good set-ups using no-knot knots, the middle one
is the K.D. version, the hair length ranges from 1” and
half inch, the right hand rig we christened the “T-Bone” it
uses two Mainline dumbbell hook baits, available on site,
the K.D. set-up has the “Butterfly” boilie, that
uses a bait cut in half and the two halves put on back to
back, the plastic corn is used as a visual aid.
